Belinda trained her first dog, a Labrador/Maltese cross, at the age of 15, in her parent's backyard using training tips that she had had read in books. Her dog training interests took a back seat for a while as she became more involved in horses, left school and started a career. An interest in all things horse and hound however remained a hobby that she enjoyed for many years.

In the past Belinda has run her own stable yard and also been a horseback guide for game reserve trails. During this time, she also ‘backed’ and trained horses and competed in the odd show jumping and dressage show. A serious riding accident made Belinda look towards an activity that was a little safer – hence her return to dog training.

In 2005, Belinda started assisting in puppy groups and shortly thereafter she completed both the Canine Culture Instructors Course and Behaviour Course, receiving a merit pass in both courses. Belinda then began instructing obedience classes and has turned her hobby into a fulltime profession. 

Belinda currently own four dogs; a cross-breed, a German Shepherd Dog and two Labradors. Three of her dogs have gained their Canine Good Citizen Silver titles. She currently works both her Labradors in Manwork, Obedience and Agility. 

Hobbies include horse riding (when time allows), cooking, reading, sailing and the odd DIY job.
